| The Black Sheep was founded 25 years ago, back in 1984 when Carol Mulvey opened a little wool shop in Culcheth. Over the next 5 - 6 years Carol, husband Paul and eldest son Stephen went on to open five more knitting shops throughout the North West of England.
The Mulvey's started to build long lasting relationships with customers and suppliers by meeting them face to face at the retail shows that take place throughout the UK. Whether it was in England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, if there was a craft show taking place, you could guarantee that The Black Sheep would be there. It was these shows that really enhanced the Black Sheep brand and business began to really boom. |  |
| As different retail markets emerged we knew that we had to change with the times and one of the key changes was to embrace the internet and get our products online.
So here we are with a website containing thousands of branded products at discounted prices.
We now have two shops, both of them in Culcheth, Warrington. One is the little shop from where the business all started back in 1984. As for the other, well, you will have never seen anything like it before in your life.
